A review of the film, ‘Riddick’

Riddick is a British American film, released in 2013. It is a science fiction film and is the third movie of The Chronicles of Riddick film series. David Twohy, has written the film and directed it, just like the first two films of the series – Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. The lead starrer, Vin Diesel, is also the producer of this film. The film has been released in both IMAX digital theatres and the conventional theatres.

The supporting cast of Riddick includes, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Batista, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo and Karl Urban. In the movie, the leading star plays the antihero Riddick. The hero is a very dangerous convict who escaped prison. Every bounty hunter of the galaxy sets in search of the antihero. The antihero is left to die in a scorched planet and is over powered by lethal aliens. The only way out is by alerting bounty hunters and make them descend on the planet. The story goes on with the antihero on one side, the aliens, and the bounty hunters on the other side with a storm raging on the horizon.

The teaser trailer of this film was released on the 22nd face book page. Also, the lead actor, Vin Diesel, agreed to appear in a cameo role in Universal Studios’ film, ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’. In exchange, he got the ownership to the rights of ownership to the Riddick franchise and character. This film was received by critics with mixed to positive reviews. This film grossed an amount of ninety Eight million three hundred thirty-seven thousand dollars worldwide. It was at the first position on opening but dropped to 3rd  place in the second week. The Blu Ray Disc is set be released in 2014.
