The 12 years a slave film was published in 1853. 12 years a slave is a film that is based on true story of an African American freeman. The film is about Solomon Northup who is a complete free man in North America. The film talks much about slavery. Northup is free at the beginning but in 1841 he is kidnapped and sold into slavery. This is the start of his problems. Paul Giamatti playing the role of a slave seller, Adepero oduye, Benedict cumberbatch, Alfred Woodard, Sarah Paulson, Brad Pitt, Paul Dano and Garret Dillahunt are some of the cast who make this film interesting. Not to forget Lupita Nyong’o who makes her debut from this film.

It starts with Chiwetel Ejiofor who plays the lead role of Solomon Northup cutting sugarcane. He gets flashbacks taking us back to the time when he was working in New York. It is the job that he accepts from the white men who playing violin. Once in slavery he is transferred from one master to another.

The 12 years a slave is directed by Steve McQueen who likes fixing his camera on someone who is extremis. It is the house of Epps played by Michael Fassbender and his wife that creates havoc for Solomon. The movie has been written by john Ridley.

The 12 years a slave represents people who are subjugated and it also represents the history of the Americans. The film shows the life and struggle of the slaves in the past. You will have a good time watching this film. There is no doubt that you will enjoy watching this thriller. It gets more exciting as it gets even better just seeing the way the slaves struggle to make it. There is no doubt that you will have a great time.
