The Lone Ranger is an American western action comedy film. It was directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckhemier films. The film is based on the radio show with the same title. Jonny Depp and Armie Hammer were the main stars of the film. In the supporting roles, the film features Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, James Badge Dale, Helena Bonham Carter, Barry Pepper and Ruth Wilson. The Lone Ranger is the collection of adventures, lived by the duo – Tonto and John Reid, bringing the corrupts to justice for their immoral actions.

The production of film was delayed because of financial problems to the point of cancellation. Principal photography began in the month of March, 2012. Six states were chosen as filming locations including Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, California and Texas. The shoot proved to be a huge trouble with the death of two crew members. Also, cast members were trained for horse riding and gun slinging. Because of several problems, the film release dates were changed several times. Finally the film was released in June 2013 in United States and in August 2013 worldwide. The Lone Ranger was released in DVD and Blu ray by Walt Disney Home Studio Entertainment in December 2013.

The film was a failure for the studio grossing only $260 million as compared to estimated $225 million plus $150 million production and marketing budget. It received mixed reviews but majority were negative. Film received general rating of 31% on the basis of 214 reviews. Another critic site, MetaCritic gave the score of 37 out of 100 to the film.

Although the pairing of Jonny Depp and Armie Reid was great but it did not prove good enough for the film with such a bloated length, bland script and overkill actions.
